Bloggers BaseCamp – Basics for Bloggers
How To Use A Blogsite As Your Main Hub For Marketing Your Business
This site your looking at – the place where you’ve arrived to search for information about the proper way to start a blogsite – is a simple Wordpress marketing platform.
I chose a minimalist theme designed to accommodate new search trends such as Iphone users, Twitter visitors, etc. ( mobile applications )… There are other free blogging platforms to use – I use Wordpress because it’s a proven, search engine-friendly platform… has been and will continue to be for years to come. Bloggers BaseCamp will help you start a blog whether you want to:
- Sell affiliate products online
- Enlist sign-ups for your programs – including MLM opportunities
- Feature your “brick-and-mortar” business/service
- Engage other users for webinars & training
- Or just own a web property ( your blogspot ) to feature special information, highlight non-profit causes or simply pundit your powerfully persuasive personal opinion!
In my rush to participate in the growing number of online entrepreneurs marketing new products or programs to the internets global village audience, I was fascinated by the opportunity to have a ready-made website featuring a full product line or special one-time “sign me up and we’ll all make money” web page.
It’s certainly true that nothing will produce an income unless it’s advertised – and you can’t advertise anything until you have a platform from which to offer it. If you advertise a generic web page, no matter how enticingly bright and shiny it is, you must know that every other member has an identical site – and the company that signed you up collects your clients name and email – not you.
- a they win/you lose situation from the start.
If your prospects are interested in what you’re showing at all, the moment they search the internet for related information ( scambusters, review sites, etc. ) that’s the moment they’ve left you. They’ll be sure to join up through someone elses generic site that pops up in their search. Your personal website should become the information review site to engage your visitors, the one’s you struggled to find, and make sure they see alternative options to choose – in case they were only cruising anyway. Give them additional choices on your website, where you have complete control over what content you present.
And that’s not all – If you have control you make the decisions.
Creating your own site allows you to test market what you think will interest people – you have the ability to interact with people and experiment with other options. Send them through to the generic site after you capture their name & email. Perfect your own site by tweaking and testing – eventually you’ll get the response you were hoping to get. Your blogsite is your hub for everything and, over time, you will be able to upgrade your offers to accommodate a select ( targeted ) audience – and grow that list of prospects as well.
Once you’ve informed the whole population of earth about a great idea, you need to bring them to that place where there are multiple options and encourage them to sign up at your site – get their name & email or your prospects will be left to experience the slow, sometimes frustrating response of a generic, impersonal helpdesk – controlled by your generic site. They all promise to respond quickly – but it will take several days to get a simple question answered properly. Nothing beats a personal contact from you.
When you have their email you can suggest re-visiting your website for more reasons to consider signing up for what you offer. People don’t just buy everything instantly – they need more time & more information.
