This is my post of a brilliant post from a music marketing mentor who doesn’t even know he’s been my mentor.
He is the founder of CDBaby.com where two of my old music CD’s can still be listened to and downloaded. ( Yay! )

Derek is one of the few people listening first, posting & then executing all the time. As he reports, “I have a very short time between thinking and doing”. The following are excerpts from his recent post and some of the comments offered from people who participate.
Follow this and you will become excellent.

DEREK SIVERS BLOG -** Multiply:** http://sivers.org/multiply ..Sharpen your pencil.
It’s so funny when I hear people being so protective of ideas. (People who want me to sign an NDA to tell me the simplest idea.)
To me, ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.
Explanation:
AWFUL IDEA = -1
WEAK IDEA = 1
SO-SO IDEA = 5
GOOD IDEA = 10
GREAT IDEA = 15
BRILLIANT IDEA = 20
NO EXECUTION = $1
WEAK EXECUTION = $1000
SO-SO EXECUTION = $10,000
GOOD EXECUTION = $100,000
GREAT EXECUTION = $1,000,000
BRILLIANT EXECUTION = $10,000,000
To make a business, you need to multiply the two.
The most brilliant idea, with no execution, is worth $20.
The most brilliant idea takes great execution to be worth $20,000,000.
That’s why I don’t want to hear people’s ideas.
I’m not interested until I see their execution.

Don’t want to make a brilliant execution on an awful idea! … – $10,000,000!!!
“The person who says it cannot be done, should not interrupt the person doing it!” –
Chinese Proverb
“One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don’t know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn’t matter.”
For some, the notion of “raising money” is no different than “building a rocket ship and traveling to Mars.”
And similarly, because there are plenty of “executors” ready and waiting to steal those ideas, the “idea guys” feel it necessary to procure NDAs in the hopes that it’ll prevent their ideas from getting stolen.

I am a handyman. I write and perform music. I do artwork. I write stories and blog. I develop marketing ideas. I develop training documentation and teach webinars. I generally have five different things going on at once. In fact I shouldn’t be taking the time to write this but I can’t help myself. Arrrrgggggghhhhh! ( With this one I identify! )
Gotta go. I have three other projects going on right now.

Which brings us to point #2
YOU CAN’T DO IT ALONE.
